Dear Author/Publisher,
Imagine if you will, the stress of being thousands upon thousands of miles from home in surroundings totally alien to you, of missing your loved ones as well as the scents, sounds and tastes associated with home. Instead you bond with a team of men and women that have become like family, you smell sweat, heat, gun powder and fear. You hear screams, bombs, gunfire and the distinct "whap whap whap" of the Black Hawk. All you seem to taste is sand and sweat.
Now imagine it is late October and you think of the children you know and what they were for Halloween and how you miss seeing the ghosts, clowns, super heroes and vampires about town collecting their treats. Suddenly you are brought back to the desert by hearing your name called out at mail call.
You take your package and inspect it. It is from home, but the sender is not familiar to you. You open it to find a book along with a letter from it's author explaining how they are a part of Operation Desert Swap (ODS), a group of Authors dedicated to actively supporting soldiers by sending a copy of their book plus a letter each month and a care package during "their" soldiers tour of duty. The soldiers only requirement is to swap the book with another soldier when he/she is done with it.

Currently ODS has gathered support for C Company 3/25 Aviation Regiment, a medevac unit.
We are seeking authors of fantasy, mystery/crime, horror, action/adventure, Native American, supernatural, Historical Fiction, Scifi and general fiction for future companies. No romance, GLBT or erotica please.
